The Glass People uses a time-tested installation process that ensures your windows are secure, weatherproof and energy efficient. Here is our five-step process:

Step One:

We expose the nail fin of the old window. This is accomplished by removing either the home’s siding or trim to expose the nail fin.

Step Two:

We remove the window from the rough opening. We pry out the nails that secure the window fin and remove the interim casements because the new windows will be thicker than the old casements. After the windows are removed we recycle the aluminum and discard the window glass.

Step Three:

We install the new window by setting it into the rough opening and anchoring it in place using nails.

Step Four:

We install the window’s moisture barrier using either flange tape or caulking to seal the window to the sub-sheeting of the home

Step Five:

We install the exterior and interior trim molding around the window. We offer several trim choices that the customer may select. We install pre-primed trim and can recommend a painter to complete the finish painting of the trim.
